Hospital Medicine

The goal of the Applied Research Collaborative for Hospitalists (ARCH) specialty group is to create and sustain a regionwide community of HBS physician researchers who collaborate on research activities and develop system-changing ideas. We endeavor to mentor, educate, and support HBS physicians with limited research experience who are interested in collaborating or starting their own projects. With this research network, we will improve patient outcomes by collaborating with local and regional leaders to translate research results into action.

Popular research topics include: complex patients, readmissions, bedside ultrasound, specialist consultants, delirium, outpatient follow-up after discharge, coordinating care using technology, inpatient diabetes management, symptom management, electronic health record use, transitions of care.
